Charity Shops are creating "online shops" to sell their Antiques, Collectables and promote their Fundraising projects.
Charities spend money on Marketing, Adwords and are run like any other commercial business.

Maybe people buy those domains to donate to their favourite charity, often a registrar?

If charities are selling used goods and living off donations maybe they will be happy to receive unwanted domains, at least till renewal time.

Now for the actual discussion..Personally I have to say that the new extensions still throw me off. I work with domain names every day but I've only encountered a few new extensions in actual use. Even as a small time domain investor, it still throws me off to hear somebody use the new extension. Currently users are just too conditioned to type .com or any other popular extention.. will it change? I hope so because I invested too, but I think it will take a few major companies to start using the extensions before they become mainstream
