For me, as already being a skeptic, this kind of thread launches my thinking into a whole new dimension of wondering how many sales are not real.

Because no one is selling their domain for $50k, then rebuying it for $75k (50% more) unless they've already got a buyer lined up for $xxxk, or are the worst investor in the history of the world. An investor with a sale like this would just go buy 20 other .ai domains at wholesale.

I would have maybe believed it as an escrow transaction where he arranged the sale with the new buyer paying upfront and then brokering it with the buyer from their past sale or something strange like that, but buying it and selling it on Afternic for barely enough to cover the commission? Makes no sense.

great point
imagine how many newbies will go reg .ai 150 a pop just reading the title of tis.

even few year old domainers can fall for it

that's why for any tld It really doesn't take much propaganda to generate millions across millions of people.. if for nothing else then in handregs.. then add to this some more biddinf wars or bins.. and boom one fake np post puts 1000s into their bank.. whether .ai xyz or whatever..

this totally begs for more verifications of sale posts and sales... I hope soon blockchain maybe makes domain sales somehow more ... trustworthy.

apparently it can make everything better.. ;)

Good points and @NamePros @Bravo Mod Team etc... Can put in a new rule.

Namepros is the first step for many domain investors new to the industry. If you want to post a name has sold post here we need some kind of proof. The flipside people will say then I won't post? Ok if something is not worth a little effort it has very little value. Namepros will still keep going.

@equity78 I wonder what proof was provided to NameBio. NameBio has since removed both sales of this domain.

Iow, what more proof do we need?

The following rule is in the marketplace (Public and Private sale) section:
6.1.28. All claims relating to financial transactions (e.g., about traffic, revenue, profit, or appraisals) must include supporting evidence or proof (e.g., an attached video that is current, clear, and shows all information necessary to support each claim). A reputable or credible source (e.g., the company or service) must be visible as part of the supporting information when possible or included as text with it.

^The above is usually referenced in marketplace listings and direct message disputes, however, the "private sale" notation could extend it to discussions regarding a claim pertaining to a private sale that was made.

At any time, a member may request that proof be provided to verify the authenticity of a claim made about traffic, profits, or appraisals.

If such proof is unable to be provided a claim may be reported for a moderator to review it and get more involved (When applicable). - Which is what happened in this case.

For internal use ONLY: https://www.namepros.com/reports/136601/

It appears that the first post provides a screenshot for proof: https://www.namepros.com/threads/provide-ai-sold-for-109-000.1356590/post-9415355

However, screenshots can sometimes be edited or altered easily, so they may not be very reliable to use as proof.

@domainlover2017 - Could you video record (Or screen record) logging into Afternic and navigating to the alerts and completed sales notifications sections and then attach the video so that your proof is a bit more solid?

I think a video would help put all the members mind at ease regarding the x2 or x3 sales reports for the same domain you have claimed.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

That was the case

Then I wonder, what are you waiting for with the current ''on sale'' offer (supposedly €150 000 as some have reported). Go buy it again - your scheme seems to be working just fine.:ROFL:

Just a thought.

Since many domainers rely on information from NameBio, one way to reduce confusion or debate would be for NameBio to indicate whether the price data was "user submitted" or "directly sourced from the platform where the transaction occurred." when reporting sales.

Namebio can release a list of "Removed Domain Names" from their database at regular intervals that maybe because of fake, fraud or suspicion.

I don't question sales anymore. I only question those who support idiocracy.
