How can you distinguish a real site from fake site.

I mean a site like this:

    Everything looks more than professional..
But you can't complete any job there. For example contact us link doesn't work.
No link gives any useful info.
    No Alexa data.

    example:
    tinyurl. com /nextonl

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Short tinyurl would suggest it isn't anything but a fake or splash.

I don't understand what you mean.If you visit the site, it looks like a very professional business in Italy. But there are problems with its functions: they don't seem to work, but maybe because of my IP.

Well most sites that use short extensions for promotions are not directed to home pages.

That website was registered just a few weeks ago: https://www.whois.com/whois/nextonlogistics.net

According to Google, there is no company with that name in Italy.

    Possibilities:

    1) Someone plans to start a legit company - which is why its site isn't fully functional and there's no presence on Google.

    2) Someone plans to spam & scam people.

    Also have to add:

The .com version is on sale for $5,000. If this were a big or even medium logistics company (even in the planning phase) you'd think they'd have that kind of money to buy the .com.

There was another site in Italy which was a betting site which looked very professional, they were using .net, I had .com, I asked by chat and email whether they were interested ,in chat they said no, email was ignored. Maybe in Italy .com is not a must, or .net is preferred (I sold one .com to Italians so far).

I now see that the com was registered yesterday. Should I assume it's yours?

In any case, it's super weird that someone registered the net last month without getting the com first. As you said, maybe Italians prefer .net. Still weird.

5K would be cheap for a legit company dealing with "Global turnkey logistics and transportation services via sea, land and air" - this is what it says on their website. But I'm very skeptical of all this right now.

The very same phrase can be found on various other websites:

    https://www.google.com/search?q="Gl...+via+sea,+land+and+air"&pws=0&gl=us&gws_rd=cr

Doesn't look like a legit business to me :)

    nice guess ;)

Either scam, or someone building logistics sites using the same template. Then maybe I should compare their IPs , nameservers, registrars etc. If one of them is scam then all must be scam. They could easily be detected and all the effort would be wasted. There are many "lorem ipsum ..." sites which are not related, and mostly legit (but not very professional). I saw some big business sites with such forgotten text.

It's supposed to be in Italy, an Indian company and a us phone number.

That pretty much gives it away :)

Also, it's basic template with content filler. There's another one just the same, also outdated and full with stock content running on a .com.

It takes mere minutes to get something like this up and running.
