What is this??
I registered 2 domains for a client at godaddy. Created a new account for my client, registered my 2 domains... and 2 hours late i got this email for both domains... Anyone knows why? I sent an email to support, but client needs domains as soon as possible :td:

Dear xxxxxxxxx,

The following domain name has failed to be registered:

xxxxxxx.COM

Error: Add domain failed for xxxxxxxxx.COM

We will evaluate this error and retry the registration
if appropriate.

Hey jz
just talked to GD and apparently there are issues with the registry today that is affecting all registrars. I tried to unlock a name but couldn't.
Apparently should be back soon.

Normally in your situation they will keep trying to reg the name and stick it in your account...


Just an FYI...

Yeah, I regged a couple of names with GD this AM, and they haven't showed up in my account yet.

I got the same...also a name due in my acc today from TDNAM hasn't appeared yet

hope that is not true. Domain was available 3 hours ago and is a non-obvious one :'(

I just got my 2 names into my account...all's well.

Had that happen the other day around this time. Was doing some searches for names and found two very good names available that were listed in the suggestions section...I went and registered them and then received the email that they were already regged. Did a whois check...they are pending delete or something and mentioned 5 days. So I am thinking that they dropped, I picked them up and then Godaddy said OH no you don't! Those are OURS! Now I just checked one of them and LO and BEHOLD it is regged August 1st! :|

I can't even get nameservers to change today at godaddy or for a domain to be locked/unlocked. Not sure what is going on there...

Their email response time was suppose to be 1 hour this morning... Bunch of BS. It's now been over 3 and a half hours and still no response.

EDIT: speak of the devil. I post this and then I immediately receive my response:

Dear Sir/Madam, [I'd like to hope that I am a "sir" and not a "madam" being that my name is Jon NOT Jan]

This appears to be the cause of the delay. Unfortunately, we do not currently have an ETA for when the issue will be resolved as the .COM registry is not under our control. If there's a problem with the registry, GD won't be able to do anything about it. Also, I try to email because then there's a written record and I don't have to worry about my boss harping on me because I'm talking on the phone.

Just saw another thread about this in another forum. It looks like we'll have to
wait and let them do their job.

Just sit tight, folks, they'll get it fixed. I'm sure they're working as fast as they
can, but it's not going to help them do their job if they're angrily told to fix it
now.
