I've an lcd screen "Medion" 17 inch on an Athlon 350 with Win98SE installed and I'm unable to change screen resolution

When I go on Properties, I see it on 640x480 and it's not possible moving the cursor on an higher one; it see only 15 colors and there's no other option (i.e. 256 etc ...).

What might cause this problem in your opinion ?
I'm ready to consider any hyphotesis thanking anyone since now for helping.

I know you can't solve the problem not being here but hyphotesis are a good way to begin.
I installed the screen driver (original cd) and the Pc reknows them for what I see in the control panel.
It reknows the videocard too ...

well it seems like you are having a driver problem . Athlon 350 or 3500??

did you try going to the site of the manufacturer of the monitor ?

Hi slipondajimmy, that Pc isn't mine but of a friend, I think "350" but I don't know a lot about Athlon, he told me "350", not sure :)

I installed him the screen drivers (original cd purchased with it) and it surely accepted them ... It accepted drivers for videocard too but the problem persists.

Ops I forgot to say that I tested that screen on my Pentium 4 2800 (always with Win98SE installed) and it worked perfectly ...

hmmm still sounds like a driver problem/conflict . IM just throwing things out here . But did you check the device manager to make sure the driver were installed correct and that there are no conflicts

I'm having modem problems on my new/other Athlon computer, again. I decided to read the instructions, and what do you know? Minimum Requirements: Pentium.

;) Time to resort to the instruction booklet just to check, if I was you!
