Problem with backlinks and Google rank

I have been trying to develop a game site http://IJFG.com
The problems are:

1. I have checked the backlink, there are 800 yahoo links, but only 2 google link? How can this be such differences?

2. the google rank for the well developed ijfg.com is zero, where many other of my mini-sites are pr3 and pr4.

What is the problem, or what am I doing wrong?

1 - google doesn't display all backlinks in the same manner yahoo does. use google's webmaster tools to check how many they really have in their database.

2 - depends on the age, where those links are from, AND, google hasn't done a pr update in a very long time - and rumours suggest they might not again. Don't worry about PR - get good backlinks and solid seo content and all will work out. I've got sites with PR5 and they get 10 visitors a day. I've got PR 0 websites getting 400 visitors a day.

similar to google, it turns out that yahoo doesn't display all the backlinks they have either, and you can check for the full figure by logging into yahoo site explorer (siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/).

pagerank updates have slowly crawled to only two or three a year, so they might as well toss it out.

Probably a part of their crusade against link buying for PR. They've gone as far as asking people to rat eachother out for link buying. They'll probably still use it but internally and stop displaying it in the google toolbar etc as a way of stopping this practice - that's just my take on it -as with most things google - they hint but really never come right out and say it.

site http://IJFG.com is PR 3 now.

FYI, I just got re-ranked in the last few days but it took a while. Or maybe not. I'll relate my story.

The front page of http://upwithabang.com/ used to be all about a game. That had PR3.
Then in late July I re-designed the site and changed the content of http://upwithabang.com/ to web design material and moved the game stuff to http://upwithabang.com/52Pickup/

Until a few days ago the Google developer tools said "Front page last crawled July 2#, 2007)". Today it reads the page was last crawled Oct 22. Now my page ranks have changed. My main page is PR2 and my game folder is PR3.

It is worth noting that despite my front page not being crawled since July, the googlebot paid many visits and articles I've posted since July have been found in their search results.

I'm not sure what it all means, just that I really want to get my front page back to PR3

it is interesting that google can "follow" your content when you moved it. You are lucky you still have PR2 for the frontpage.
