Had this baby a little while now and wondered on current opinions of value.

Obviously, it has many uses, especially towards digital media - CD's, DVD's etc.

All ideas, suggestions, appraisals and comments most welcome.

keep handing out the rep for your "positive" appraisals, and fundraiser, i do know the market for domains perhaps better than most, and yes random off the wall offers do come in for domains sometimes, but they are few and far between so they are not a proper evaluator, i can say that a name of mine is worth 10k because some day someone on sedo might have a use for it and pay me 10k, but is that the value? no its not.

Normally I believe that overture tells the value
of a domain name, but there are exceptions.

Very true. Valuation is not an exact science and each domainer should read all they can, learn all they can and then develop a personal strategy to reach the goals they have in this business.

donlee, if you read Fundraisers post you will see he is hardly saying it is worth a fortune. Perhaps read this bit:

Since there is no natural search for "preorder" or types of items to preorder, I just can't see value in the domain for a developer. Unless an end user has a clear vision of how they would use the domain to make money, I don't see it having much value there either.

I handed out rep because he had spent time writing it and I appreciate that. Not because one person says its worth alot and another says its worth nothing. Well thought out opinions are what gets rep. Not posts to boost post count / NP$.

You would think someone that has over 2000 posts would have more of an intelligent view on extensions.

I also, not to long ago sold a .us for high $xxxx

Please next time you comment on someone's thread put some thought into it. It does not help the person that posted or new members in any way.

People should relax and assume that the Good Will Out - meaning that those who make unsupported comments are noted. No need to ridicule.
