Prefixes?

How much would you say that adding an "i" "e" "the" or "my" in front of a domain name would decrease the value? Obviously there are domains that adding a prefix to would make no sense and others that the addition of a prefix would still make sense (or even enhance the value).

Also, which of the prefixes would be ranked best to worst? Were speaking in general terms here, I fully understand that it would not be the same for all names.

example:
ecommerce-this makes sense & the e adds to the value of the name.

thecommerce-not so much

Well... I find that the prefix value is determined primarily by the keyword your putting it infront of. There are cases like - eLoan.com that make perfect sense and domains that would be worth a small fortune.

If I were to rank the order of prefix, in terms of value it would be the following:

- e
- i
- my
- the
- your

Having a standard deviation is not likely with this. IE - If Domain.com sold for 10k, eDomain.com wouldnt neccessarily sell for 1k.... Its going to be relative to the popularity of the term, how much "sense" is being made and really how many other available options exist.

Where would you rate the prefix "our"? Would that be higher than "your" or below it?
