PreciousMtl.com - precious metals?

The uncertainty in today's economy seems to be piking the general public's interest in precious metals (gold, silver, palladium, platinum, etc.) either to buy them as a store of wealth/investment or selling any jewelery/scrap they have for quick cash.

It seems like "Precious Mtl" is a well-accepted abbreviation for "precious metal."
With a search on Google, you'll turn up companies with names like "Markland Agf Precious Mtl Co" or "EL CAPTN PRECIOUS MTL INC"

The precious metals market (gold and silver among others) is fascinating for me and chances are I'm going to end up putting up an informational site on the domain.

Please post your appraisals with comments and it'll be much appreciated.

Sounds nice name; mtl is not commonly used for metals though. It would be worth low to mid $xx undeveloped, imo. Wish you good luck with your development plan.

You're right that "MTL" is not as commonly known as "metal" as say, "TV" is for "television"
However, "metal" comes up as one of top few definitions for "MTL" if you look it up on AcronymFinder.com - http://www.acronymfinder.com/MTL.html Seeing various companies mining/dealing in precious metals use the abbreviation in the name like the examples I mentioned above also leads me to believe this is a very passable name.

Any more people friendly enough to give me their comments on this name?

low xx as I MTL is rarley associated with Metal . might be officially but most people dont associate it with metal.

When I see Mtl I personally think Montreal.
But I don't think this one has any particular value, even assuming it's commonly used within a restricted niche. There is no scarcity for such abbreviations.
