Dear All,

I am not new nor experienced but in the domain limbo and I need your help to understand the flow of the domaining world.

I agree with @Eric_Lyon who says "domain is truly only worth what someone is willing to pay for it or what you can convince them it's worth." but I have to admit that it is very confusing sometimes.

There are rubbish domains selling for thousands of dollars. Serious I dont live in Canada and if there is a hood trend over there but I dont know why someone will pay $35,200 for ShopTheHood.ca is beyond my undestanding.

I have a 4 letters (.com) domain that I acquired quite a while ago here in NP and according to many internet "experts" it is composed not only with Premium Letters (A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,L,M,N,O,P,R,S,T) but 1 Super Premium letter in the Chinese market "Q" and I found a list of 9 meanings of PQIP acronym
as follows:
a) PQIP = Putting Quality Into Practice
b) PQIP = Pharmacy Quality Improvement Project
c) PQIP = Pork Quality Improvement Process
d) PQIP = Perinatal Quality Improvement Panel
e) PQIP = Program Quality Improvement Plan
f) PQIP = Photo-Quality Inkjet Paper
g) PQIP = Personnel Quality Indicators Project
h) PQIP = Property Information Questionnaire Personal
i) PQIP = Preliminary Investigation Questionnaire Personal

and a Portuguese one:
a) PIQP = Programa Institucional de Incentivo e Qualificação Profissional

The domain is not developed and am not sure if I will sell for a lot of money (I dont think so) but for the above reasons here it goes my question.

In your honest opinion as domainer, investor, human being and friend, is this domain worth to keep ?

I wish you all, a very good rest of Sunday and a fantastic week full of sales, offers and happy life and I mean it :)

Bless

IMO, it would depend on what you paid for it ($10 reg against $100+ aftermarket), what your expectations are to sell it for( ex: $100-300+ or $1000-3000+), and how long you're willing to keep paying renewal fees on it before you're eventually upside down on it. It's not a great LLLL, but it could be sold, just depends on the above, and you.

Just have to Google. I had no idea what that is either but:

"Shop The Neighbourhood, an initiative of Yellow Pages, encourages Canadians to support SMBs by shopping locally."

Q isn't premium in the U.S. You bought it here at NP because it's the type of domain that gets sold on the cheap here because of that letter.

From dnjournal:

"selling ShopTheHood.ca to the owners of ShopTheNeighborhood.ca for $35,200."

http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2014/20141022.htm

STH owner was confident of having one over the STN people and asked accordingly

Looking at LLLL.com drops over years, the 'Q' ones were at the bottom of the barrel as far as how deep one would reach into the pocket to purchase.

I bought it here in a Auction. It was cheap and I am not regreting or thinking that it will make me a millionaire, far from it but I am trying to understand the mechanics of it and again I will quote the Eric that "domain is truly only worth what someone is willing to pay for it or what you can convince them it's worth."

It is a gamble and sometimes we are lucky and sometimes the house (registars) win.

Never mind, I will keep reading, learning, buying and selling until I win the Lottery :) I just love this game to much to give up. I think it is the feeling of ownership that keeps me going, owning something that can be memorable and can make a difference in peoples lives. I am just an old romantic.
