We have created a free domain listing service in conjunction with Twitter. It is a centralized feed to post domains you want to liquidate. We've created this feed as a result of seeing repeated complaints from domain investors on Twitter where people post their domains for sale in their feeds without being invited to do so.

With a centralized feed, both sellers and buyers have a place to go to at any time to either post domains or browse to see what is available at a bargain. This is a safe place to post domains in a centralized social media feed without having to go to individual accounts and possibly ticking people off.

We hope this will be a vibrant venue utilizing the power of social media to help you liquidate your domains.

The concept is to leverage the social network in a way that reaches out to buyers and sellers in a non-intrusive way. We will be spreading the word so that followers will include potential buyers looking for a bargain. All in one URL, one feed. We'll see how it goes and how it will evolve.

The problem is that those who post their domains for sale in places nobody invited them have enough places to do so. And yet they keep doing it.

Itโ€™s because most of the time they promote garbage. And they wrongly believe they have more chances to succeed by polluting otherโ€™s feeds.

They also pollute mainstream marketplaces with garbage names. Hopefully eventually that will die out as they find out they can't sell these names and move on to another "get rich quick" fantasy.

Edit: Maybe you can RT the 'listings' that fit your view of this the best, to signal boost? Also to set a precedent of what you're looking for.

My first post above pretty much answers this question. You believe it will die out, and Iโ€™m not that optimistic. :xf.wink:

Btw, Ive joined couple of groups on LinkedIn and all I see there are posts from very same people with promotions of average quality names. At least on mainstream marketplaces you can filter this shit out, but you canโ€™t do this on LinkedIn and Twitter. Itโ€™s just boring to see one long feed of shit, lol.

LinkedIn and Facebook groups tend to be more closed in. Twitter feels more open and has a more natural flow. It takes less effort to post. You don't have to be friends or connect with anyone. Plus it makes much better use of hashtags than the other 2. Retweeting is a snap. Etc. We will evolve with time. We're not stuck to a certain way of doing things.

We have created commonsense rules, such as limiting 5 domains per day. The idea is that they will encourage the posting of the best of the best domains at a bargain. And there are already some quality domains listed. It is free. No commission. So you can only gain exposure.

What is the etiquette on making offers? Is it frowned upon for a buyer to make an offer, are sellers expected to already have it listed at their best price? Maybe a #firm or #offers?

We are still working out the finer details. You are free to reach out to the sellers and make an offer via Twitter. It's the seller's prerogative to accept or reject.

It's possible we may ask to hashtag the price as you noted in the future. It will depend much on feedback. This is a work in progress.

As others have mentioned, the difficulty becomes when list gets too long and too variable.

Have you considered differentiating lists by type? E.g. A tweet for only brandable .com, another only .org, one for domain phrases, one for just .io, etc. Hashtags could make it easy to find the ones anyone wants. Or maybe that is already your plan?

The close similarity of names NameLiquidate and DomainLiquidate for unrelated services will cause a bit of confusion, maybe.

You've partly addressed it but I am not totally convinced of social media lists over a thread here.

The beauty of that Bob, both are completely different websites. I like the Name one more, but this deepest use social media sell Ive seen

I dont have a Twitter social media account, but will be closely monitoring this. Clearly thought things through and not rigid in his thinking. I too wish him success. this stage, experimental to sell on Twitter, but iโ€™ve seen some success.

Crazy how much Social media evolved can sell domains on Twitter. Can @TCK publish sales?

DomainLiquidate (DL) is a free service. We are not making money from it. It is an auxiliary added-value service that complements our primary business, whose mission is to provide a suite of services to market your domains.

Both DL and NL services are very new and as you mention are very distinct. So time will tell which may become a dominant brand. But I'm sure both can co-exist.

At this early stage, it is a venue exclusively between buyers and sellers. It is their prerogative to report sales. Most sales historically go unreported. But certainly as time goes on, we will consider sales reporting if the buyers and sellers are in agreement.
