I don't know if any of you caught the recent news from Wix on incorporating AI into their backend. This is of course negative news for web development companies. But on the domaining side, startups will now be able to save money on their web development costs and have more to go toward assets like a premium domain.

Unless that same AI can create a much better and free/cheap domain for that startup.

Assuming that a successful automated system, like an AI, will be restricted to just a certain niche (like, eg. web development) makes no sense imo.

IMO most any startup needs a web presence. Much of that cost ie logo design, web site design, copywriting, etc can now be done for free with AI. Or at least that seems to be where things are moving. Let's say your startup budget is 5k. In the past you may have only had $500 for a domain within that 5k budget. That's changing now.
