.mobi Poop.mobi is mostly done, your thoughts?

I worked on www.poop.mobi yesterday. I am using SMF (simple machines forum) and the Classic YaBB template. Basically all I have done as far as looks is make the logo and redo the topic icons. I have added the arcade package and made a unique link for that. There are only a few games now. I will be adding more over the coming days.

The SMF forums get a 5/5 from dev.mobi out of the box, which is why I chose to go with that script. The mobile surfers won't be able to visit the games section but I will build a simple one for them in the future.

The two things I plan on doing still are getting a graphic logo on the wap version and adding some mobile games.

If you have any comments on the site, whatever they may be, please share. If not I hope seeing SMF in action may give some of you iideas for development.

You're welcome. If you host has "fantastico" the install of SMF is a snap. It only takes about 2 minutes with hostgator ones you have the DNS set.

Haha, I knew I would get those kind of comments :lol: At the very least the name is memorable :]

Now I just have to figure out how to get the logo on the WAP version, it is very plain with the basic install. Also, it doesn't appear people can join from the WAP version so I will have to work on that as well.

If anyone needs help with their install of SMF, PM me and I will glady share what I have learned so far. Or if you have the answers to my two issues noted above PM and share what you know

So after some serious hours of searching I finally found the php doc I need to modify in order to get a logo to show up. Unfortunately, my php skills are non existent so I don't know where to insert the image

Edit: I think I might have found the answer. I'll try it out tomorrow when I am not tired and let you know.

Nice, I don't like SMF but having a mobi compliant template is cool. Something to consider -- Never use Fantastico. It adds unnecessary junk that sometimes makes upgrading/modding a pain and you'll eventually have to manually install just to get rid of Fantastico's footprints.

Is there a forum script that is .mobi compliant that you think is better? I don't know of any, that is why I went with SMF. Do you think that was a bad choice?

Fantastico can put in a bunch of junk you don't need or want. I noticed that when using it to install joomla. I think with SMF it is ok though, I didn't see anything different from a manual installation. Let me know though, I would rather find out now rather than later.
