I had 5 domains backordered on pool that were dropping this weekend.

Every single one of them (and some others that I watched, but didn't backorder) was grabbed by ultsearch.

Maybe I just need to diversify my backorders.

I've found Pool to be more reliable than ultsearch, but it doesn't hurt to have more than one company working to get you a dropped name.

You know how to order names through ultsearch? hehe..

rb, did you make a note of what registrars were getting the names on their behalf?

You know, I didn't think of that. I'll do that now.

ultsearch is not a backorder system, it's just the nickname of one of the "big" domain name players that owns a lot of good domain names.

Looks like a couple of them were registered through the catalog.com icann registrar.

Thanks for teasing me on my response, RJ

I meant that ultsearch always has a better chance against one snapping service because they have multiple avenues to use. The more you use, the better off you are...

Hello,

I know what you mean. I just got off the Pool auction this morning. I tried to get gamemart.com. In the last two minutes the biding went from five or six hundred to over $4000. They were prepared to go over $7000.

Most of the time it is Ultsearch, Buydomains, or Vertaxis.

You can beat them if you want to dig in your pockets a little deeper.

A couple of months ago I thought I was going to get Wineandroses.com for $80. In the last two minutes it went to $9000.

Same thing with carfinancing.com, in the last two minutes it went to $36,000.

If they want the name bad enough they will pay for it. They usually put in a large proxy bid.

Best of luck on the snap!!!!............

ULTSEARCH

Interesting thread....
I was after a couple of domain names recently...
I had them backordered at GD, had a snapback at snapnames and had b/o with pool and enom..........net result
ULTSEARCH got them!
Seriously now.........how can a guy compete with them?
I actually wrote in a month ago and guys in the forum figured that GD, Snap and Pool was enough........nope
What can we do?
