Hi,

I'm a little bit mad regarding a funny issue that i had a few days ago. I'd backordered 2 domains from Moniker using SnapNames (even 1 month before the expiration date). Suddenly i've got 1 email:

We attempted to secure the following domain names:

(thename).net (name hidden)
(thename).com (name hidden)

...as they were released by the registry, but the attempts were unsuccessful. We're sorry that we were unable to acquire these domain names. We have thousands of other great names available - you can click on the domain names above to see similar domains in our inventory.

Both were bought by DOMAINHEADZ.CA INC using Pool (now they've changed the nameserver). Anyway i'm wondering. The successful way for backordering a domain name from moniker would be?

1. Using Pool?
2. Backordering first?
3. Luck?

Regards,

If there's a domain name dropping that I really, really want, I backorder using Snap, Pool, GD, and NJ. This is your best bet. IMO.

That IS actually strange... I would have thought Snap customers would get first dibs on expiring Moniker names, before they are allowed to drop...

One of the domains was: Provides.net

They've parked the domain at sedo, but since november 5 the nameservers were pointing to pool. At least i know that the next time i backorder a domain... i'd use SnapNames and Pool for backorder at Moniker. At least SnapNames didn't charge me.

As MicroGuy said. If you want the domain, then backorder it at all the backorder companies. SnapNames / NameJet / Pool. If it's a GoDaddy domain you should watch for it in their auctions somewhere between 21-25 days after it expiry.
