Wot would we do without controversy - we all have our own views on value particularly if we have invested substantial sums of money in a niche area - sometimes it will pay off - I bought .ws three years ago, sold 35 of them for totals in the low $xxxx, handsome profit - was appraised at zero! The .co.in/.in names have and will continue to make me huge profits - initialy poo pooed as valueless by a major broker and others!

Personally I do not like subdomains JMO, but if as you say you are making substantial returns simply from parking and you have already developed a market for them more power to your elbow. :lol:

I do own Poker.ind.in BTW, not a sd is it? :gl:

These arent niche markets, they are simply customers of a main market that being, in this case, centralnic who happen to own some pretty top dollar .com domains. One of which happens to be web.com...

And i'm not forcing my opinions on anyone Colin, im simply stating facts rather than giving my point of view. Theres a fundamental difference!

new.net sub domains are exactly the same as central nic sub domains.. i.e. they are subdomains to which you have little or no rights...

Pssst, and if anones interested, the keyword/s 'texasholdem' is available under almost every single one of these $$$$$ subdomain extensions... :lol:

Sorry, im not trying to cause offense but I really dont know what the discussion is here. Yes, if you can make money from anything, that something has an intrinsic value. But, as an unparked $4.95 subdomain, that something is worthless and the likes of central nic and new.net must be laughing theyre heads off.

And as a final point of note, I wonder if anyone can tell me the difference between a new.net sub domain and centralnic sub domains??

Yes , at least a WEB.com Subdomain is Based on a Normal NameServer ICANN APPROVED Domain unlike new.net who depends on non standard methods to resolve the names
What I still can't understand is , People trash and denigrate
ccTLD's like .tk & .cc and gTLD's like .info & .biz
Yet would rather pay a lot of good money for a Subdomain
But in defense of Quality and his name Poker.web.com
It will rank highly in Search engine Rankings
and it does have a resale value to the right buyer
At least it wasn't POKER.cjb.net (NO resale Allowed)

Yes yes badger..they are exactly like new.net....

That is why transco.uk.com that supplies half of the gas in Britain
uses the domain.

Even Barclays.uk.com use it to direct some traffic.....

And enom.com sell them as well.....

Now is some company just gonna upset all these companies and resellers
and customers by just saying we are gonna stop resolving the names...
and of course its own income!!!!!

I think the probabilities are rather low...hey nothing in life is risk free......

subdomains but they are not new net the names resolve the email works.

Sure its a private company but we all buy stuff from private companies
every day and most of em do a good job.....

But I do agree that they are overpriced at £65 but I have property.uk.com and cars.uk.com both of which are hansomely making 5 times reg fee per year from parking.....So you will never logically convince me they are
worth $0....and yes they DO get type in traffic you can check the numbers
at SEDO contrary to your assertions I prefer to look at facts.Oh and those 24
bids for hotel.de.com that I have rejected are all fictitious as well.....yes
hotel.de.com is worth $0 2 U but not 2 me!

They are selling *.cn.com names that are £65 way overpriced they are
missing a great opportunity to sell tons at $5 a year in my opinion with
proper marketing/pricing they could be selling hundreds of thousands. China is
a huge market and I would wanna get in there with really aggressive pricing say $2 a year and sell millions - at $110 you aint gonna sell hardly any...maybe they will learn with time. Same problem with *.us.com they should be selling them in tens of thousands at say $10 for two years...........

A scam is when you are sold something useless that is not worth the price paid or even a fraction of that. New.net is a scam as you do not buy sex.xxx
but sex.xxx.new.net and the name does not resolve as sex.xxx in others browsers. poker.web.com does resolve across the world try it in your browser... Thereafter if you put in work you will make money hotels.uk.com
makes over £1 million a year EVERY YEAR because the guy has put a lot of work getting thousands of hotels to buy into his services...I am quite sure his good looking url has helped him to market to many of his customers...as
a parking page it would probably make £500-£1000 a year but hats off to the guy for what he has done....was it worth his £65 reg fee for two years YOU

RegisterFly is a reseller and offers the domains much cheaper than buying them directly.

There is a big difference in value between new.net and CentralNic.

1. New.Net Require a plugin, CentralNic domains do not.

2. I have not heard of ANY business using New.net domains, in fact there are just 843 sites using the .xxx extension by New.Net, but there are 1.1 million sites using the .uk.com extension. That says a lot about the extension, with so many sites using CentralNic domains, it makes them desirable and therefore gives them value. How many extensions can you find the word "poker" in?
