Me and athletec have been chasing this name. We had to get validated to reg the name, a very painstaking process when in-line to get a name like this. It has a killer reg fee ($1000) but I know it's worth it...

Poker.pr

PR is Puerto Rico, a caribbean nation with many casinos and a large tourist destination. I feel that it is in the same boat as Poker.bs (which sold for $3600 days ago). They both have acting gambling communities and in a tourist destination, however Puerto Rico is closer and more accessible to the average tourist.

Here are some google results for site: to help you valuate against recent poker.ext's that have been appraised here:
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,290,000 for site:.pr. (0.08 seconds)
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,120,000 for site:.bs. (0.10 seconds)
Your search - site:.rn - did not match any documents.

Where is the best place to sell this name, (forums, ebay, etc) and how should I go about contacting local casinos in Puerto Rico. Thanks in advance for all the constructive tips and advice you can give.

awesome name

if you want a quick flip with a few $k profit then ebay it

if you dont mind holding for a while, sedo and afternic, maybe featured listing

email all the casinos etc in puerto rico offering them the domain, then email the bigger online casinos/poker rooms

if none of that finds a $5k plus bidder then you can still ebay it, tho dont leave it too long, you dont wanna have to pay that $1000 renewal! :hehe:

Thanks, you can add Poker.bs to that list for $3,600, and Poker.in has gotten 20k offers, a member here, Crooky, happens to own it.

From comparable sales it looks like $2000 - $3000 range.

Until the .in owner actually sells poker_in @ $20K it will be hard to put this .pr even close to that amount. As far as country interest... India has a population of 1.08 Billion .. PR has a pop of 3.8 Million.

You should try eBay ... worth a shot. They're running a promotion right now on listing upgrades, too. Check that out.

I wasn't trying to say it was of the same calibre. Just trying to clarify the value of Poker.in, he has a firm BIN of 60k now if I'm not confused.

Thanks everyone

Very nice- I think the extention looks good, .pr could be an abbreviation of poker or player. The value will depend on the speed you want to turn it round in. I might even pm you an offer myself! :)

i was so close for going for this you wouldnt believe. The $1,000 reg fee was the main drawback for me. I had images of developing it as "poker player" so maybe you could do the same. I am kinda regretting not going for it now :)

put it on afternic . that kid who buys all poekr.ext for $1500.... however, I dunno if he would buy a poker.ext since the renewal fee is high. but try it.

Hi Sam, it's nice if someone still calls you a kid while being 37 :)
I bought 5 poker.ext, 4 for $1,500 and 1 for $2,250. The $1,000 reg fee kills it a bit, for an end user this is like paying an extra investment of $10,000 (calculated simply at 10%). A real plus is the extension, Puerto Rico is definetely something else compared to an 'unknown exotic island' extension. Also buyers sometimes kind of forget about the fee and think that this is for later sorrow or assume the fee will be lowered during time (which probably might happen anyway). Taking all in account I would say $2k because of the high reg fee, but much more (high $$$$ to low $$,$$$) if Puerto Rico reduces this rediculy high fees to a somewhat normal level. Maybe if you have the means this one would be perfect to develop. Poker.pr just sounds terrific as it is and is easy to remember. PR is also a very widely known 2 letter word, just being Public Relations, people wil remember that. Good luck with whatever plan you have with this great name! John.
