Expensive. If you use it for a shop for example, enough turnover could justify the renewal.
If the plan is to resell the name - you have a very expensive lottery ticket in your hands.

If it was mens.clothing I might be inclined to keep it one more year and aggressivelly try to find a buyer. But I don't see this singular version as particularly strong so I vote for dropping it as well.

My point was about correct usage NOT renewal price.

"Men clothing" is not a term that is commonly used in the English langauge. The correct phrasing is, "mens clothing".

"Men.clothing" would likely bleed the bulk of its traffic to "mens.clothing" as a result. So anyone that tries to develop the singular would probably just end up feeding traffic to the owner of the (correct) plural version.

Example:
If I wanted to invest in precious metals I might naturally type in silver.com, gold.com, or even platinum.com. But I would NOT normally type in silvers.com. golds.com, or platinums.com in doing my search for precious metals.

Platinums,

I'm not going to get in a "water exchange" contest with you. Their will always be exceptions to a given rule due to any number of reasons/factors.

ANY AND EVERY domain could likely be developed to a certain level of success given enough effort and money. But that brings up the whole question of funding and ROI (Return on Investment).

The OP asked for advice and I've given him/her my best advice based upon my experience and knowledge.

You might want to bookmark this thread and revisit after your next 5-10 years of domaining. You'll likely understand and appreciate the issues a bit better then. Good luck to you.
