Any ideas on how much this domain hack is worth? Thanks.

The hack is great but not very brandable. though you might find a good value as plush means luxurious.

Teddy bears (I have a wife, 3 daughters, and a grand daughter).

Would be a good name for a site selling plush toys, which there are a few I think. If one of these small manufacturers could be found then anywhere between $500 - $2,500. Of course if an avid collector and retailer could set up a website retailing many different manufacturers teddies then you could be looking at between $2,000 - $6,000.

Although the market is fairly large worldwide the number of actual retailers specialising in plush toys / teddies is fairly small, this limits the domains potential for resale.

What the hacked domain plu.sh does demonstrate is something that is quite often overlooked or misunderstood by those who quite often venomously argue against hacked domains being worth anything, citing things like the so-called 'radio test'. Most marketing of plush toys is through printed (including online) and visual media (including online), on these two media the domain www.plu.sh has far more impact on the memory than does aural information. Anyway when a site has been visited the address will automatically be completed on most internet devices afterwards.

Nice domain, some real potential for the right end user to develop a good site on and profit on. Now the hard part starts for you and as always that is for you as a domainer to find the end user who you can explain what value the domain can add to their business - and that is the same for ALL types of domainers.

Congratulations. :)

It's a nice hack but not exactly sure what someone/ business thinks or might pay for this... I like it personally though...

@TheBaldOne I really like your response, and agree. I also really like this name, but ofcourse with any "hack", cant be too sure of its value. If I take Christm.as as example which was sold on Flippa for around $500 last week. I thought that was a good one. I really like the two domains mentioned in your signature!

I have Goodi.es, which I now pushed to auction.

Always the same problem, hacks are not very liquid. Few names ever sell in .sh, let alone domain hacks. Plus, these names are rather expensive I think. Try to start using it today perhaps, at least you build traffic while waiting for the day an end user will come...

@Kate

The .sh extension is for the island of St. Helena, now depending on source of information it has a current population of circa. 4,000 - 4,500. I would doubt if there is actually much call within the economy and population of St. Helena for domestic domain name use, so to say not many .sh domains sell and then to try and say few .sh domain hacks sell and therefore this somehow diminishes the value of a domain hack shows a misunderstanding of the value that a domain hack can have. Every domain hack is entirely different irrespective of extension, the value comes from the conjoined keyword/s or phrase formed by the hack.

Also consider that less than 1% of English words and common phrases can be made into a domain hack using national domain extensions. Then consider that some of the national extensions it is advisable not to touch with a barge poll (IMO extensions such as .ng or .et - a great pity in both cases). Now think of those words that can be formed into a domain hack but have little if any value even in any extension including .com, suddenly it becomes apparent that English language domain hacks are rare, indeed very rare, a comparrison I sometimes use is because of rarity if the .com is considered as gold then good domain hacks must be considered as platinum.

I have also just done a quick check at the nic.sh registry and the annual cost of registration is £72, that is less than £1.50 or $2 per week - if any business thinks this is expensive then I feel sorry for them.

Unless the owner of plu.sh has an avid interest in or willing to learn all about plush teddies, etc. the last thing I would advise is to build a site on the domain, such a site would only be detrimental to the selling price as it would not attract visitors and even those that might come will definitely not return. I would though think that a small site offering the domain for sale would be a good idea (perhaps with pictures of random plush teddies in the background for visual association).

I stand by my valuation given above of this domain hack to an end user.
