.US domains.US domains
$200-$2000
seeing it as a generic site with no particular commercial value

Why should it worth more? In fact I'd say it worth less.
launch.com is owned by yahoo
Launch.net redirects to an other site
Launch.org is developed.
You may try to contact these owners.

it s definitely less than 1000 I don't know how you all are evaluating hacks. Hacks are not very well accepted unless they are in .me and .us

So, if a sale is made, you are going to invest every thing in domains like that?

Not all. Why would you make that jump?

Generally speaking I don't like a lot of hacks however this one is one that I do like.

1) It's a real decent ccTLD that is not huge risk .ch. This is a pretty stable geo.

2) Laun.ch would be great for exactly the type of people that will use hacks. Startups, Angel Investors, "Cool" people.

It's not as good as Soci.al and that sale was on the back of social.com but I think Laun.ch is a great hack.

I would hold on to this for a long time because it's a worth it as a hack "trophy" name and consider selling it if someone came with a $10K. This doesn't mean it will ever sell though. Where you choose to start negotiating is up to you - I'm not all that familiar with actual hack sales so I'd leave it to the experts to name a price based on real experience in this niche.

I would also factor in how much interest you've received over the years. if you get 0 traffic and 0 offers then the value would be hugely influenced by how well you can market/talk it up. If you get some traffic and prior offers then you can gauge.

The only downside is renewal but I'd pay to keep it and I'm cheap as chips.

That was just a way of saying.

I'd say $100 - $500 range, leting aside the hack, I think this .ch country extention has a limited potential buyers

If I have to consider the hack, I'd say $0 if this comes with international purpose or at least in this case I'd see it worthless

so it is worth less as a hack? that doesn't make sense.

Well, I was refering specifically to this name, if this is used for Switzerland I'd see sense

But well, maybe I was a bit hard with this hack...I don't know, It's was my sensation, of course I could be wrong, and I hope I was wrong

The point is I think I don't see much value in hacks, although I might change my mind, who knows

This is a good point. The TLD is stable and trustworthy.
Others like .ly have a very checkered history and must be considered high-risk. Just for that reason some domain hacks are better than others.

That being said, I think domain hacks are almost impossible to appraise because a lot depends on luck.

I agree with the other points you've made. I was think start-ups too.

i don't usually like hacks, but this is is pretty decent imo.
i wouldn't be suprised if you could sell it anywhere around $200 (to resellers) up to around $1500 (end users ).
it is also a 10 year old domain, that has a bit of value on its own.

5000

its great. but not worth 50 or 100k imo.

I am really glad you brought this one up, because I was always interesting how others valuate a hack domains, and I have read a lot of valuable posts here, because honestly I wouldn't be able to put any number for you at all.

According to urlappraisal.net LAUN.CH is worth a little over $3,000 dollars. I note that some do not like hacks. But I personally like them a lot for brand ability because when done well as this one, they LOOK so gosh darn cool. So my question is this...which has the most value, LAUN.CH or launche.com? Shouldn't the answer be LAUN.CH?
