These are based upon an emerging technology that’s been sporadically in the news over the past couple years – WiBro – thus, with the recent announcement of WiBro coming to American cities I would like to get some thoughts on the technology, it’s potential or lack thereof and, what you think of the few domain names I have that include the

WiBroLocator.com
WhatIsWiBro.com
WiBroAntenna.com
WiBroAntennas.com
WibroFree.com
WibroAlliance.com

Application Filing and Registration
Once your application and artwork are prepared and filed at the United States Patent Office (USPTO), an Examiner conducts a trademark search of their own to determine if your proposed mark is confusingly similar to any marks already registered.

If no conflicting trademarks are found, and if your proposed mark is found to otherwise qualify for registration, it will then be published for opposition in the USPTO's Official Gazette.

No problem. I have no idea what that means for your sites...I would think that if there become authorized dealers of the service, they could use the name and might buy it (ie a toyota dealership could use bostontoyota). Just don't try to do any direct selling of the service or products yourself.

Good luck.

No, I’ve been around this business for a few years now and I have had dealings with this type of thing more than a few times. Typically, if they ever became interested, they would probably do one of two things 1) contact an acquisition company to attempt to acquire at a reasonable price (usually below a WIPO charge of around $1,500) or 2) and this is more likely, they would simply send me a C&D and ask for the names to be transferred to them by a certain time (I wouldn’t have any grounds to fight it because this thread is likely already indexed by Google), so I would normally comply.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

Well wimax Domains are all over the place.

Question --- If you registered all your Wibro domains beofre the Trademark was filed are you OK?

Only one Wipo decision on the books was SamsungWibro.com "Who ever did that one was stupid"

No, I still wouldn’t be okay, because the question will remain regarding what my intension was.

For some reason I thought of WiBro as a technological category, something like a cellphone. Goes to show what an airhead I am.

Best wishes,
Kimmy
