VERY nicely done.
Only a few adjustments, out of my perspective;
enlarge the nav buttons a bit and bring them down in a more prominent spot. Increase the banner size by just a little to give it more presence, it's branding your product as a secondary branding element besides the initial logo.
While i'm at the logo; you've chosen the classic medical logo, i'd take it one step further and "make it yours", adjust it to represent your site for an even more professional touch and look.
Give users the opportunity to sign up for the daily news letter and present deeper topics regarding the business.
You've set up a good looking site, now the real work is getting started, get content, submissions of content, etc.
Booksales alone are not going to give you the credibility you're looking for, they just make you another questionable eBook store, which there are too many as it is. While your initial approach may have been to drive booksales and make your money through that, i believe that the topic is actually a pretty good one and can/should be monetized as a serious venture not "just" as a cover up to sell eBooks.
Overall, you're on the right way, don't drop the ball now, get more content, talk to local home health & nursing places and get them to submit their stories.
