The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

There are many different page sizes, the most common are

800X600
and
1024X768

These two should get you in the right direction.

thanks for help.
does anyone know "how can I find out the webpage size that I visit"
on the net you see alot of website have full screen. (when you are using 19" widscreen monitor) and some of them half screen in the middle and the right and left side with big blanc gape. so I need findout what size they are using
I mean, when they create webpage, what size did they used, something like spying on the page, only for the size , I try view- source but there is nothing about the size of webpage. do you know any other way to find out?

When you visit the page right click on mouse and click on view source. This should show you the code. You can see the values given in the code.

hope this helps

Look at the code below in red you will see that the main table is set o 90%. This is 90% of the screen resolution of the users video settings. this assures the page will expand and shrink to fit the users video (screen) settings. You can use static settings such as width="500" or percentiles like "width="50%". The static setting means the page will open to that set size.

Hope this helps out.

<div align="center"> <table width="90%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="border" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" style="max-width:1000px;"> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td bgcolor="#5280C6" align="right" style="padding-right: 10px;" width="100%" background="http://images.namepros.com/head_bg2.gif"> <form action="http://www.namepros.com/search.php" method="post"> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding ..................................

Thats the best idea. having percentages in dimension decisions.

@ edmaya,
you probably have 1024X768 screen resolution. The ones of half pages are of 800X600 SR.
the former is more popular and you better use what You and your target (viewers of your website) use.
