Hi. I have a Netgear DG834g Wireless Router, and for some reason I cannot find out how to connect it to other computers. I am currently connected to the internet via it, but I want to now use my laptop to connect (wirelessly - wi-fi) to it, and be able to access the internet.

Can anyone tell me please (gets down on two knees) how I would do this?

Thanks a lot :)
Tom

it wouldnt be wi-fi (just wireless i believe)

and you need a wireless card in your laptop (bout $40 before rebates if you find a good deal), other than that it should pick up the router if it has a valid connection

no, its defnitely wi-fi, 802.11g/11b to be exact. :hehe:

could it be something to do with the laptop? Its a Toshiba Satellite, and on the front is has a light that looks like it is representing the wi-fi transmitter, but it dosen't seem to be on. Does this have anything to do with it?

Thanks

if the wireless card is working correctly, there should be a icon on the task bar, where you can right click and view available wireless networks, find yours there and connect.

You may have to setup the wireless connection via your router admin page, to allow it.

right... there is this little button on the front of my Toshiba Laptop, and I pressed it (it has the wi-fi symbol next to it). It immediately connected to the router! lol

For anyone else who wants to know (and has a toshiba satellite laptop) there is a wifi switch you will need to turn on!

Thanks :)
