Hi gang,
I need your valued help once again on a little project I'm thinking of ramping up.
This is the situation:
It's (surprise surprise!) a WWD-Instapro reseller acct for hosting/domains etc. The site is SwiftWebHosting.com. It's a 'basic reseller' acct.
It's a template driven sub-domain and NOT SwiftWebHosting.com itself (although I have pointed the domain to the templated site and masked the domain as well).
Got a basic logo/header made by one of the NP'rs here.
I haven't advertised my domain much at all (or the site's domain address), except manual submissions (I have TrafficBlazer for my domain's SEO, but haven't taken full advantage of it yet).
My aim:
1. I want to create an SEO-friendly home page for SwiftWebHosting.com which will include a links page as targeted link exchanges will be built for SEO purposes. The home page will be exactly like the home page of my reseller acct's template + links.
2. I want to edit my banner/header by increasing the size without losing quality or animation.
3. I want to advertise the heck out of it (smartly!).
My current actions to 1, 2 & 3 so far:
1. I have tried to use the free 'Web Site Tonight' tool to create the homepage I want. I copied the source code of the original site and pasted it in the web building tool. When I preview the pasted code in the browser it all looks good. All the links point to the real site and correct pages, but the website building tool doesn't allow me to delete some extra forms added to the page via their own pre-made pages. I chose the 'blank page' but there were still some forms there to enter texts and images, but I can't get rid of them. Other than that, I have managed to create a page that looks and works exactly like my templated site's home page. Now all I need to do is get rid of those other darn forms! HELP!!!
I also have Dreamweaver to create a page but it looks too advanced for me and I have no idea about coding or publishing. I just know how to cut n paste :hehe:.
2. I tried contacting the original designer but he hasn't been back here for a while and I lost his contact details. I also tried using editing tools like Macromedia Flash etc but the image comes out blurred and the annimations don't work. I'm lost on this one and want to keep the original banner I already have. I think it looks okay for now, but I need it resized, is all!
3. I have researched into this alot and it seems like duplicate sites aren't the way to go (as I am doing), so I may add some RSS feeds into the code-copied site I want to create and add some more links to it for advertising perhaps. I know that submissions aren't enough and I know about keyword/meta-tag/link-exchanging/paid-ads etc. It's hard hard work so now I want to eventually pay for pro's to do this all for me, so they can add the best keywords etc to my page/s. I know of a couple of great sites that guarantee either 7 day Google placements (like IneedHits) or guaranteed top 10 ranking for a particular keyword on Google (like Axandra's IBP program)... as well as much more they offer to enhance SEO.
If someone can help with any ideas/solutions/feedback to any of the above, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks gang and cheers!
