Is it possible to renew a domain name without reflecting on the whois?

Someone claimed to have renewed the domain name: diib.ai but the expiration is still showing 24/9/2026 and it's been 12 hours since he claimed to have renewed it.

Kindly help to confirm the expiry date of the diib.ai.

It's possible for there to be a delay on the website you're looking at, for various reasons.

It's not possible to hide it indefinitely.

I can see the registrar being Porkbun. I hate to make your situation worse but, registrar being Porkbun, it means that the renew should have been applied immediately or, at the very least, the domain should have shown renewperiod or something similar.

The registry/RDAP record should show it. If the renewal went through, the expiry date should have changed there.

No way to hide a real renewal like that. Once a domain is legitimately renewed through the registrar, the new expiration date pushes out immediately or updates in the registry/WHOIS within a few minutes to a couple of hours max.

If it's been 12 hours and it's still showing September 24, 2026, either they haven't actually renewed it yet, or the payment didn't go through properly on their end. Might want to double-check if they're just pulling your leg or if their registrar is experiencing a massive registry delay (which is super rare).

Yes, that’s possible. You might need to check again tomorrow, when the domain name is supposed to expire. But just because it’s possible doesn’t mean that’s what actually happened or that the domain name was renewed.
