Well, I certainly don't have enough experience to appraise it, but I do have an opinion - I think it's a great name! Good use of the .us tld.

I would definately develop it. I think it could easily be used for a vacation/tourist guide - especially if you went for some of the lesser-known but more fun places. I think you could also put up something to appeal to kids - maybe a trivia contest of US fun facts. Lots of opportunity, IMO!
