2) just because you didn't have any problem with yahoo, doesn't mean that this will remain so forever. someone could buy this name from you and next week yahoo could take it away from him

I would agree with gifted. This is one of the situations where "yahoo" doesnt really stand on its own, so one would have to be very careful that there is no association with them at all. One yahoo ad or nod in there direction could be disasterous if you sunk money into dev'ing.
