Hi,

I'd be grateful if you could offer me your opinion on the domain
Price Wiliam of England just announced his engagement this morning and it has whipped up a media frenzy. Grateful to hear your thoughts!

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers for the feedback Johname,

I'm a newbie so just to make sure i'm interpreting your answer right. You think the domain name is only worth roughly what I paid for the reg fee? (I'm just curious)

I thought the domain would be solid as it is keyword rich?

Sorry if the Q's seem a bit thick but as meniotned i'm new to the game!

I will try to explain a bit more, John means it is reg fee since it is time specific, once the hubbub and news has died down you will get far less searches for this so you should basically sell it right now for as much as you can get for it which will likely be reg fee or thereabouts, if you are lucky a little more though it is unlikely. Also you extremely long name makes it far less desirable as something that may be searched far more often.

If you had RoyalWedding.com it would be far better since it wouldn't be for one specific event and it would be much more marketable and right now it could be worth in the thousands :)

Best thing to do is search for domains that have eternal use, those that are in the news one day and gone the next tend to be worth as much as you can get for them right then and there because 1001 people will be having the same idea, back when Michael Jackson died thousands were registered and a year later they all dropped simultaneously lol

Don't worry about it so much, we have all registered questionable names in the past, the good thing is that you are asking questions :)

Agree with the above, very average and long domain name, and it has a very limited shelf life.

Thanks SparHawke can't argue with your logic!

Considering that 750 Million people watched Prince Willams mother Diana getting Married back in 1981, this should be a high profile event. Certainly within the UK and Europe it would be expected to stir up alot of interest including media reports, fashion magazines, papaazzi and headlines etc..

I appreciate the solid advice to sell on the domain while it has value, but from an appraisal point of view and considering the fixation that people have historically had with this kind of event - how much do you think it may be worth? (i.e: what should the guide price be on ebay. i.e: โ‚ฌ60?)

Again I appreciate the feedback!

I would put a price of around low to mid $xx (60 euro would be about right if you can get that) on it and see where it gets you, but the longer it takes to draw interest the less you will get. The trick right now for you is to get as many people as you can looking at the name while interest is high.

In a day or three even in the UK people will be sick of hearing it on the news and wont care one way or the other...your best bet would be to gather all the news you can while you can and try to make some adsense off of it while people are still looking :)
