Counter offer with $2500 or more.

Counter. Not worth $2500 in terms of the market. But it's essentially WASHINGTON so... I would counter offer but not outrageously.

$2500 is outrageous price? Maybe in reseller market but not to an end user. If it's a domainer then he or she will offer something lower.

I would counter at $900. If they hold to their offer I would take it and run. If they come up a bit then good for you!

I am on the hold side of the fence with a name like this unless the amount will really make your domaining year. $900 counter not knowing who the are is fine. Figuring out who they are could mean tacking on more $$ Good luck.

Thank you for the feedback. It is through GoDaddy Auctions so it is tough to gauge who is on the other end of the offer.

"WSH.CO" shows this thread on PAGE 1 of Google for me.

Yeah its the 5th result for me.

Probally a very low offer, just got to think about why you reg this name. For a quick say $150 in your pocket or down the road sell for xxxx if co is a sucess. Even if co a faliure to the average person enduser a name like yours will hold it domainer to domainer value (in my opinion) Goodluck

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I let the TDNAM offer expire. Spoke to some friends who don't think I should ever pass this domain up for anything below $950 because they believe it has great value being short for Washington (even though they're primarily dot com investors).

Congrats on your offer. It's exciting when someone shows interest in a name. With any luck the interested party wants it bad enough to make another offer. Though, I tend to feel you should have at least countered, rather than just letting the offer expire, especially if you were only looking for $950. It seems most buyers make a lower initial offer as a jumping off point or a way to break the ice. For many end-user or investors, that starts the bartering process once a counter has been made.

Incidentally, WSH in a simple Google search brings up pages and pages of Microsoft's Windows Script Hosting, Water Sanitation and Health, and Western State Hospital. It is also a company's stock ticker symbol, a Law Firm, and even a Hollywood movie made back in 1994. However, it was particularly interesting that nowhere in the several pages viewed was anything mentioned about Washington or even the word WISH, which it more closely resembles.

-Regards

Interesting points. Thank you for the analysis. At this point, its back up on TDNAM. Hopefully, I can use all of this advice to close a deal the next time an offer comes in. Again, appreciate the help.

Obvious value with Washington abbreviation. It wouldn't be worth selling this for less than $1800, IMO. Like someone said, that one has reseller value in any case, no matter how big .CO becomes.

Thanks. Glad I didn't buck under the pressure!

The question is how much reseller value? Down the road $100 offer make look spectacular! You never know.
