First getting into selling it. Getting appraisal. Before going to auction
I will see if I can market it myself by sending e-mails to various Textile Co. This should not be diffficult for me to do.

Any suggestions would be appriciated as I am not in domain business. Bought the name many years ago when I was working in the Textile business.

Thanks

Sandy (Mr.)

This is a great keyword. Dot net is never like .com but it's still the second best extension.

Textile industry is declining in the West but it's booming in the East. Try to find a buyer in China. You can find countless buyers if you promote it properly.

It's worth in the range of high $x,xxx to low $xx,xxx imo.

I was reluctant to give my opinion earlier because we see so many spammers asking for appraisal of the names that they don't own.

Thank you for your input.

I am in the process of havig it appraised (Sedo), putting up a simple site at whear I have the domain parked and acquring the names of potential customers. Yes I agree, I will focus on China and other foriegn countries. Both of the Textile Mills I worked for((50 years) are long gone. I will then begin to send simple e-mails.

Can I take the liberty of sending you a copy for your opinion?

By all means!

However, I'd choose a different strategy. These appraisals don't make any difference as far as the value of a name is concerned. Sedo's appraisal is a waste of money. Go to the official Canton Fair site, find in the exhibitors' section some manufacturers in the textile industry and send a personalised email to each of them. This is just to start the process. Soon you will learn all the tricks involved in it.

You don't need to support your case by these appraisals, as our estimate is always very conservative, whereas you need to maximise your profit.

Wish you all the best!

Hello Jawed

I think it only fair that if I sell textile.net to an end user, the sale should go thru you. Can you let me know what type of financial arrangement is typical.

Below is my proposed e-mail that I will send the possible end users I would find on the Canton Fair and other textile sites.

As you might guess by now, I wellcome constructive criticism. It will only make our job more effecent. In my case, $$$ is more important then time. I waited all these years, I'm in no rush now.

I put up a simple web page that Godaddy offered. If you think a more elaborite site will be more usefull, let's discuss it. It wont cost me that much to do so.

Hi

My name is Sander Belkin.

Many years ago I bought the domain, Textile.Net. I had the intention of putting up a web site after I retired; just to stay in the game.
Since then, I retired, but never put up the site. It is now up for sale. I would appreciate if you would forward this e-mail to whoever in your company is in charge of business planning.

Because the name speaks for itself, I will not attempt to point out the various merits the name has to offer a Textile business. If you have any interest or additional questions, I can be reached at, [email protected].

Thank You
