Well, that actually doesn't have anything to do with it as the mark in question is actually more famous "Sony".

While there have been WIPO's and UDRP's from Sony Corp. they also have a history of allowing a few fan sites which are confusingly similar to their marks exist and even flourish.

• you registered a TM
• you registered in an exotic TLD that is not known for its performance on the domain aftermarket

Delete it and spend a few weeks to months reading and getting acquainted with the industry. You can also research past sales at namebio.com and dnsalesprice.com to get an idea of what is selling. Also, assuming you are unaware of TM laws, it is also a must to become familiar with the meanings of UDRP and cyber-squatting.

Not only will you gain a ton of knowledge, it will also save you money in the long run.

Just put a BIG DISCLAIMER on your web page and say that this has nothing to do with the capitalistic firm that produces the PlayStation or in any way related to the Sony Corporation and then offer to sell it to them for $300,000.00 - also tell them that you have a son named Y and you never heard of Sony - then go to a bar with the friendly Japanese executives drink a lot of sake and then sell the name to them.

Okay back to reality - as my friendly domainers have forewarned - this is TM so I would wait for the cease and desist order so you can frame it on your wall and never do this again.

Plus I would edit your first post and claim you never made mention of this having to do with the PlayStation, you are blatantly admitting you knew what you were doing and will lose a lot of money. Better luck next time.

Or do the sensible thing and beg your registrar to delete it, call them immediately and stay on the phone until they do, even offer to pay for the deletion and pray Google doesn't index this thread for legal reasons.

contacting the Sony, and ask them to buy your domain

Could... but it's a real stretch.
The problem is to convince Sony's lawyers and UDRP panelists there is no TM issue with this domain. Obviously they are not going to accept that kind of justification :notme:

I own XBox.ws and plan to set up a site with cheats, game reviews etc... I have seen many sites which use TM's in their domain. I am sure the actual TM holders know about these sites. I think if your promoting them what harm can it do.

Thank you all for your thoughts!!! I just want to let you know for example that www.sony.cc is taken by a private domain holder (not Sony)and there is a site! And so does www.sony.me (!!!) parked and www.sony.in (!!!) parked in Sedo!!!. I'm sure there are many more... How can it be if you say it is definitely a TM issue?
