Hi Everybody,

What are your thoughts on the value of Scholar.FR?

49,500 exact match searches in France each month.

Thinking about developing it into a website that offers online soft skills training (one of the things my company currently offers in Europe and the Middle East), but also tempted to just try to sell it, as i believe it could be worth something. The other option is to hold onto it until some more of the absurd restrictions placed on .FR domains have been taken down, allowing me to target a bigger audience, but that could be months, years or even decades!

Anyway, put it on sedo today with a make an offer option so I will see if anything comes my way in terms of offers within the next month or so.

But back to the point - I am curious to hear what the seasoned domainers think it might be worth...

Well, if you ask Frenchmen about this domain, I guess most do not know the exact meaning in French.
So what's the point of a seldom used English keyword in the French TLD ?
Because .fr is to target a French audience right ?

"Scholar" in French is "Scholar", isn't it?

I just checked Google's tanslator, set "from English to French", typed in "Scholar" and got "Scholar".

Could be wrong.
