Hello just received an offer for Plymouth.mobi via afternic.com i think it's a rubbish offer personally, especially as i've just sweat blood to develop it and get it up and running! But what do you guys think I should counter offer for it? If the site adds any value to it here's the link plymouth.mobi

But I haven't heard of any City .mobi's sell yet unless i've missed the news? For anyone that doesn't know Plymouth in the UK is a City in Devon, and is one of the big martime/naval ports in the UK.

Any views will be appreciated.

Zeeble didn't realise you were local mate! I'm over here in Brixham!!

That sure is a coincidence!

I think your the only person on this forum who also lives in the Torbay area.

You have a good collection of domain names there, with great development potential.

Just a note: Historically, one of the bloodiest and most decisive Naval Battles of the Civil War took place in Plymouth, NC at the mouth of the Roanoke River. The Confederate Ram (Ironclad) CSS Albemarle was sunk here.

Each year, Plymouth NC has one of the largest Civil War Re-enactment Battles drawing tens of thousands of participants and spectators.

Google alone has 300,000 returns for this one search:

Great line up of .mobi DNs. Use your Plymouth concept - rinse and repeat for all the other (worthy) destination and then build an umbrella site that encompasses them all, this way you're accessible from ALL angles.

Regarding the offer: I think you've put too much work in it, have too much future potential with this site and all the other domains you own to even respond to a low-ball offer. Get on your way and continue to do what you're doing best; develop the sites and get traffic. Once you have good numbers, it might be better to offer SMS message signup for restaurants that offer specials, coupons, etc. and sell the SMS messages and links.
Tourists can sign up and opt out upon being in the pertaining area, etc. (just one possibility)

it's all about development and you really seem to have your skills in this area. :tu:

Cheers for that gjsys it's definetly an idea thats for sure! I am using the Plymouth site as a template site for my other dn's already, but since most of them are islands it's gonna be quite hard to sort out especially the channel islands since they are not listed in yell. com from where i got the contact details from for plymouth, so it means alot more hard work! And frustration! I'll get there in the end though!

Circa1850 i'll bookmark this page for use later on so i can get the facts etc for the USA Plymouth. Cheers for pointing those facts out to me!
