As i mentioned in different appraisals, you can not appraise these 5 letter names. They might be 0$ names, they might be 10K if a big company is interested. It all depends on whether someone likes it and want to brand it.
I personally would not pay more than 10$ if this name was up for auction at namepros. But obviously (as you say) there is someone interested in the name. I would say that sell it for whatever price the buyer is ready to pay. DOn't negotiate too much. If the buyer offers 100$ , sell it for 300$. There are many other possibilities the buyer can choose from. He can go for Nuipa.com or whatever is available for reg fee.

This may not be a random "I like the name" thing, with this ending in IPO and starting with the brandable "Nu" as a play on the word New; I get the felling if someone were interested in branding this it very well could be to brand it as an IPO Start-up website.

However, it's impossible to assist much further without knowing the exact conditions of the offer thus far.

Thank you all for your replies. It actually is directed towards an IPO style site and "NU" was meant to stand for new - but after further investigation I found out that Northeast Utilities which has a stock symbol of NU is a strong buy on the NASDAQ and it also just gained approval for a merger with NSTAR and this could be a very profitable exchange as NUIPO could be a new website for NorthEast Utilities.

But when I traced the IP address of the chap who saw interest in this name it came from Great Britain.

I was offered $5,000.00 for the name but the person who contacted me never followed through on the transaction. He continually expressed interest but as stated never completed the business end of the deal.

Actually no - there was no appraisal discussion just an offer to buy and the price.
But after looking at NameBio today I noticed a name similar "nupogodi.com"

Who knows everything is done through email and you don't even know who you are typing too. The buyer did mention escrow which I setup but unfortunately they did not follow through.

I have no worries I have 500 domains for sale and I know there are 500 people in this world who want them.

I have 2 similar names: nuepi.com and nuepu.com, and another not very similar one: nuelu.com. The former 2 were enqueried by a customer from South America country. But he didn't give me counter quotation. I would sell them at $xxx.

I tracked the IP address to a town in Great Britain and found the exact location of where the email was sent.

They asked for escrow so I went to escrow.com and setup an account but when the escrow site asked how I wanted to be paid, I asked for a bank check to be mailed to my companies address - they asked for bank info and I told them to...well you could guess what I told them to do. Cheers.

I was in the bathroom and when i came out , there he was, lieing on the ground, not moving anymore.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Animals are wonderful spirits and those 2 birds that I have as my avatar are not mine but the avatar is suppose to represent friendship and love - because they are just hanging and having fun and I think the green one is stealing a kiss.

So in retrospect that is what I do domaining and having fun and every now and then I am able to grab a great domain name.
