i must have missed something that caused a severe decrease in value for .mobi domains. Gamesites.mobi sold for over $3400, freegames.mobi sold for over $10k, and games2.mobi(?) even sold for $99. I apparently debated too long anyway-no reply back from original party since the original email (or maybe a tire-kicker). I do appreciate the input-time for me to brush up my knowledge on the .mobi TLD, apparently-thought this domain compared well to those previous domain sales. Thanks fellas.

Theres an occasiaonal XXX .mobi sale here and there but .mobi is pretty much a dead extension. Even great names are sold for nothing or get dropped. you need a total enduser to come along and need just that name ( why the other sold probally) to get anything for a .mobi. I had alot of good .mobis and dropped them all. not worth the reg fee anymore.

I think that some sales were just not valid (insider sales to prop up the extension and cause others to jump on the bandwagon).

Rarely see "real" sales from the limited amount that I pay attention to.

I personally stick with coms, nets and orgs.....but what do I know?

Got it. Worth the reg fee just for the advice though. Thanks guys! (and I know this isnt the right forum, but one of these days I'll have to post the story of how GoDaddy gave me LasVegas.info last month for about 4 hours-Ive never heard anything like it...the domain actually still shows up on my "task" list as a certified domain that I have to confirm, but was never really mine apparently...). Have a good day.

I pretty much agree with what's been said so far, but, unless you are desperate for a sale, I would sit on this one for a while. Things change very quickly nowadays, and with mobile internet use increasing, as evidenced by all the new tablet devices just released, you may get an offer later down the line. New games is a nice term. And there are quite a few people who believe in the .mobi extension. Good luck.

Good advice and I agree; I've dug into the TLD a little more for educational purposes since this morning, and there seems to be a wider degree of valuation discrepancy between individual domainers with the .mobi TLD than there is even with .infos, which in my experience (4 months) have shown to be valued all over the place depending on the evaluators opinion of the TLD. That being said, this will be my only purchase unless "music.mobi" (which sold for over $400k, I believe) or the like comes up for a minimal purchase point. Thanks everyone. This was an interesting domain for discussion; Im glad I bought it regardless of ROI. I'll be sure to post back if anything of interest develops with this domain. One note: "air.mobi" has attracted multiple bids at another forum in the last few moments and has just hit $270 but wasnt sold because it had a reserve of $4k-while it's a short, memorable domain, it doesnt seem to fit the TLD at all-but again, I could be wrong even in that statement-Im far from an expert with this TLD. Roughly half of my research came from this forum, Namebios, and Wikipedia.com....Best, EK
