I wouldn't bother with .IM names, you have to get really lucky to sell these with the Isle of Man having a population of around 70K I believe

I owned some premium keywords in this extension and ended up selling for$10 on the domain forums

Maybe developing is the way to go

I agree, I am based in the UK and these IM domains are extremely difficult to shift.

There are a lot of .im domains available that end up expiring after trying to sell for maximum $10.
This is a good keyword, may be you get lucky > low-mid xx.

Hecklers Online used to have these really clever fake AOL IM chats that were hilarious. This was back in the 90s when Hecklers was at keyword:HO.

Anyway, when I see Jokes.im I think of it as a site for humorous instant message screenshots/log.

"I put on my robe and wizard hat" "Is this Treyshawn?"

Possibly even similar to bash.org.
