Domain: .us takes value away from it, and "exit traffic" sounds like "leaving traffic" which makes me think "less traffic". Low $xx.

The spammer seems to be using toughguy accounts. I got an email from him also.

I can't reiterate this enough - BE CAREFUL with emailers asking for you to give them appraisals!

I'm of the opinion that you should let the buyer do the appraisal anyways. After all, is it the job of Maytag to compare washers for you? Do you think it's wise to ask a salesman if such and such a product is good? The salesman will obviously tell you a product is even if it is not. I can STILL REMEMBER asking a guy if Streets of Sim City was a good game. He said yes. If any of you remember that game, it was an utter and complete piece of crap (kinda like somone saying Superman 64 was a good game). Caveat purchasor (or however you say buyer in latin).

In addition, this shields you from the above scam. It works by first having the scammer express interest in your domain. He says something like "I just do this on the side to make money."

After showing interest and getting your hopes up, he asks for an appraisal from you because he "doesn't want to make a mistake" in buying the domain. The part of the scam that takes your money is this appraisal, the scammer/scammers OWN THE APPRAISAL SITES. These scammers have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in buying your domain, they just want to make money.

The way I dealt with my scammer is I told him that it is the buyer's responsibility to assess the value of a domain, as it is the buyer's responsibility to assess value in any other investment (stocks, real estate, bonds, etcetera).

I've attatched the complete correspondence with the scammer to this post. It is my hope that people will look at it and know how these scammers operate and how to avoid them. While I've removed specifics (first names, email, and the name of the website), it's pretty boilerplate, so you should know what it looks like and how to spot it.

I'd get your membership numbers up a bit more before selling. I remember reading somewhere that a network's value is equal to the number of members squared (I don't think it's Moore's Law, pretty sure that's the one about transistors). This basically means that a network's value increases exponentially as more members join (see eBay, telephones, fax machines, the internet, etcetera). Past a certain point, these networks will reach critical mass.

But regarding your site, I don't think 14 members will create much value. Once you get 1,000 or 2,000 members, though, you might have better luck with a higher price.

Just my thought.
