Question: Why would someone buy it?

Some of my points that I looked at: (If a Company/Individual buys the domain to offer free blog hosting services for (primarily to) Monetize ads or to sell premium service):-

1. High volume keyword -> Reliable & Quality free blog hosting service can get good rank in search, and thus more continuous users for less cost. (Easy to compete with other free blog hosts over long term)

2. .co is recognized as global extension by Google -> good for SEO.

3. Free Blog Hosting on Subdomain + Your own domain --> Users tend to use reliable Free service than pay for hosting.

Taking your points.

1)If you could rank for "Free Blog" this could be a positive. It's possible but a lot of work.

2) This is a non factor imho. Overhyped by domainers especially .co, .tv and I love .tv ;)

3)The end user would be in competition with:

Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, Posterous, Live Journal, Typepad, and Facebook, G+.. and that every single hosting account has a Blog auto-install button.

I don't think that's a very big end user market willing to take those on for a platform that HAS TO BE FREE. Their reliability has been proven on other platforms.

To compete on a trust front the .ORG or .COM would be far more valuable. There might be some scope for a Blog/Minisite/Help Site linking and comparing Free Blogs which is a more realistic use.

I think it's one of those names that sounds good is taken in every TLD and looks like it has huge potential but is, in fact, very limited.

I don't think anyone would be interested over $XX.

//Just one opinion.

Rather than setting up a free blog yourself, perhaps it would work better as a site detailing all the free blogs available - reviews, setup guides, etc.. Information on making money from blogs, etc.

As mentioned there are plenty of ways to monetize it. I don't see much point in actually having peoples blogs on the site itself or even offering free hosting. You are too late into a fairly well saturated market and it would be better to have a catchy, fun, brandable name for this use.

The name itself is probably regfee - mid $xx if you are lucky.

Good luck.

Thanks for the Feedback :great:s.

We start the main site with Blog Guides and Blogger Forum.

Once the site is fully established, we go next step to start Free Blogs.

I love .tv
I have FREEBLOG, FREEBLOGS in this extension, these are going to be good for Video Blogs.

Nicely put and agreed. $0 to regfee.

Sadly, .co's have very little market value. So, I am afraid that you will get lucky.
