I think the main problem with this domain is the extension. The .CO ccTLD is yet another in a long line of hyped lottery-style domain candy. It has been pre-packaged in a planned and deliberate attempt to boost speculative registrations and sheer the masses. There are, I'm sure, well intending people that work at these registries and registrars and who are operating in a compartmentalized system where only the people at the top understand the true agenda.
It is clear that domain development is scaling down while domain supply is increasing exponentially. Anyone who has studied basic economic theory certainly understands what happens in this situation. Under the best case scenario, .CO registrants will lose only their initial registration fee and any annual renewals before realizing the problem.
As supply expands, more and more people will be driven toward .COM. This is because it is most desirable, best known, and because prices will decline as availability increases. Lesser .COMs will drop and the general trend will be a movement away from vanity/niche extension and into the arms of .COM.
The registries/registrars will finally start to flounder and consolidate as holders of .CO, .ME, .PRO, .CC, .WS, .MOBI, .TEL, .ETC, will be left holding the bag. My advice would be to steer clear of .CO, avoid domain registrations of any kind, reevaluate your short/medium/long-term goals, and then, and only then consider moving forward with further domain investment.
Good luck and may the force be with you!
