Hi all,

New to the forums and just picked up ch58.com.

I was thinking it may be a nice little domain for someone wanting to promote "Channel 58" perhaps?

Anyways, you guys certainly know best so will leave it in your capable hands :)

Many thanks

Why not ch59 or 57 or 60 ? What makes this name especially valuable ? How many potential buyers have you identified so far ? Is the name taken in other TLDs ? Developed ? How come this great domain was still available ?

$0 :imho:

You need to ask yourself those questions that sdsinc listed.
You will find it has no value.

Get a refund for the name, a.k.a. grace delete.

I agree with sdsinc and 3D on this one.

Unless the number 58 has some hidden meaning in TV land, there is nothing that makes this special over all the other ones still available.

This is just another random LLNN.com

$0 value.

Many thanks for everyone's input so far, greatly appreciated!

I noticed that all other chNN.com domains appear to be taken, so thought I'd nab the ch58.com whilst I could. CBS58 (a US news channel) use Channel 58 on TV, so a small potential there perhaps. There are a couple of other countries who have channels on this number also. It does not appear to be taken in any other TLDs however.

For the sake of a few quid I won't miss, I'll keep hold of it for the year and take it as a learning curve I think :red:

Not to worry, seems I have a LOT of learning to do lol :)

Did you check how many are developed ? Just to have an idea.
There is plenty of speculation in .com, plenty of names are registered that don't even make sense. You just can't base your purchases on poor registrations of others.

You never see sales of LLNN.com being reported, it's just a short domain but that's it. There is no scarcity forthose and scarcity alone doesn't mean value.

According to Godaddy.com free Domain Appraisals, ch58.com is worth between $238.00 - $715.00. However, since the domain name is four letter word, short and easy to remember, I will put the price tag at $3,987 - $5,987.... I wish you the best

its pretty high on the tv dial, but its also an attractive number (like football jerseys 32 58) The low ones 1-13 are much more desirable.

The reason chNN are taken is because they exist, and the chance a tv station would want one. But the days of existing tv stations saying "hey we need a website" are gone. You either have to wait for a new station to open and hope they like your domain over the much more likely "call letter" one. Or some other type of channel. Isnt local tv a losing prop now days.

I like it if you dont mind paying certain future reg fees on it. Low $xx
