BORED.org

What kind of appraisal would you give Bored.org? (I own it)

Also, do you think there would be much difference in value from .net?

Thanks in Advance!

Clearly BORED.org is more valueable than BORED.net

.Net is usually more valuable than the .org extension, especially for Web hosting/internet/network related domains since .net means network.

But, for something like embarass.org, or bored .org since these words are appropriate for the .org extension- they are more valuable. In some case I would argue that the .org is just as or more valuable than the .com even,

I appraise this valuable domain for $2,600
Show us some past sales where .org is hotter than the .net for something like "bored" (not an organization)

experience huh? heh

Not an appraisal but I just saw your tag domain and had to smile. I was thinking along the same lines apparently, because I registered IPPDB.com (International Poker Player Database).. Never developed it though:) Good luck with bored.org, I definitely like the name!

I think the .NET version would be a lot better. I dont see how the .org could be worth more??
However its a great keyword and im always tying in 'Bored' or something similar when I have nothing to do on the net.

Have a look at the .com version and sites like it. I definetly think it is worth developing a similar site to these. Just a database of funny/interesting/whacky sites for people to go on when theyre bored. Add the occasional pop up as you expect on them sites and some advertisements and let it run.

As for just the domain id say LOW X,XXX - LOW/MID X,XXX

If developed with traffic it could be a lot more and it probably wouldnt take too much work.

Good Luck

The order of extensions are .com .net .org .info

however sometimes the .org is worth more than the .net
and sometimes there is a lesser gap between the .net and the .com and also a greater gap between the .net and .org

Depends on the field/industry.

Great name.

I can't possibly see this. Could you provide this thread with a few examples? It sounds like you are going on gut-feeling and not fact or realism.

I bought Bored.org from BGray earlier in the week for $16,000 :) The domain averages 1200 uniques per day, hence the price.

I can definitely see that- it is a very nice name indeed. I am big fan of the .org extension (besides the .com of course) however .org is better than or perhaps more appropriate than the .com for certain keywords, such as embarrass.org

I see that the domain embarass.org comes up first result in google for the keyword "embarrass"

Thats what you need to do my friend.
:)

Clearly bored.org is hotter than bored.net
Use your common sence.

"not an organization"

obviously you can see that it is not an organization but if you use your common sence you can see that...- it is a domain that redirects to stupidity.com- and it is a domain name that is very befitting for an organization.

.net is usually hotter than .org but not for keywords that are more related to an organization than a network.

With .net and .org it all depends on the use for which one is more valuable. If it's a word that is usually associated with some kind of group or organization (not a specific one), it could be more valuable in .org

For example. suicide.org would probably be more valuable than suicide.net, because the end user market favors the .org.
