Do you realize that anything more than 2 keywords is exponentially harder to sell ? I see that the shorter bikehydration.com is taken, but for sale (is it yours ?). Both names registered on 10 June hmmmm.... I thought you were slowing down on purchases ?
Anyway, the mere fact that these names were available makes me doubt about resale value.

I am "trying" to slow down. So no value in your opinion? Thanks for your feedback.

LOL . . . Probably!

Let me ask you this. And how you answer this question may define my domaining career going forward! So no pressure . . . Let me walk you through my thought process!

1. Bikes are big business
2. Water/Hydration are big business
3. I did check Namebio
4. I checked Google. I googled Max Hydration Method since it was a recent sale. It had about 440k search results and it looks like some sort of product. Bike Hydration System has almost 3m results, and it is also a product, but more a collection of products.

What am I missing here?

~ -$10

To speculate, and that's what hand regs are, don't be mistaken... (You are buying a one year option with your renewal).. Maybe cryptocurrencies are a better bet for you. At least they have liquidity and potential upside.

Finding opportunities in hand regs is nearly impossible. It's a suckers game and even for pros, it's speculative too. No guarantees and extremely low probability of a worthwhile sale that pays for your time and associated holding costs.

I've done some decent hand regs over the years, like AT888.com and I think my cointrustfund.com from a few days ago is OK. But I've also pissed a few thousand dollars into the wind, such as a 100 or so LLLGroup.com names I tried my hand at. I knew this risk of capital upfront but new statistically there was a chance it would work out and was in a position to take such a risk as overall I've done well in domaining.

I suppose if I have a takeaway from this post for you, consider almost all domains after 1998 registration to be crap and stop hand regging!

More opportunities exist in buying quality aged names in auctions or cryptocurrency speculation!

1. Bikes are big business
True!

2. Water/Hydration are big business
True!

Using Serps or SemRush the term Bike Hydration System has 70 exact searches per month at a CPC of $1.23 to $1.58!

What am I missing here?
End Users!

The bottom line is when hand registering a new domain you want to cast the widest net possible of potential end users. To me and I'm sure many others here, a bike hydration system is simply called a "water bottle"!

The term just doesn't have enough "broad appeal" to make it valuable. Does that mean it won't sell for a profit? Not necessarily, but the chances are not good at all. I, like many others here, are rooting for you, want to see you do well and have that big sale and share the good news with us! We also want to see you slow down or stop spending money on new regs. until you have that big sale. Good Luck!!

I like crypto and coin names right now. Yours are OK.
I just sold cryptosleuth.com. Only hand regd. it about a month ago so I felt a little better about regging 2 more. My absolute favorite I own is Capbital.com, I am branding it on BB right now and hope for a home run on that one!

I just wanted to write that too - all is good, except that end user perspective is totally missing here.

oh well, heck.
Hiking hydration systems, ski hydration systems, sup hydration systems, kayak hydration systems, camping hydration systems, fishing hydration systems, hunting hydration systems, I would never dream of using my biking camelbak while fishing and mind you the ski one is insulated. I think there are insulated biking ones as well. hmmmm, insulatedbikinghydrationsystems, insulatedskihyrationsystems, ......
:xf.wink:

Would be an excellent name for a company actually called "Bike" that specialized in "Hydration Systems" maybe you picked a winner but Cycles or Motor-Cycles? Both can be referred to as "Bike" yet the word probably makes people think of BMX or Mountain Bike.

hydrocyclesystem.com
hydrocyclesystems.com
cyclehydro.com
cyclehydrosystem
cyclehydrosystems.com
cyclehydrate.com
recyclerehydrate.com
bikeaquacycle.com
aquacyclehydration.com
bikehydrosys.com
bikehydrosystem.com
bikehydrosystems.com

These are just some examples and all are available to register right now.
Do any of these make more sense or look better than bikehydrationsystems.com as all are shorter? If so not big business at all. :(
Unless you want to invest time and money in the domain and develop it as a project I'm afraid you'll be keeping that a long time.

So I guess what makes me different is that I like to develop a lot of the sites.

I think this is a SOLID name for a developed affiliate site.

There are about 1k monthly searches, high competition and about $.80 cpc, which is low. (for the exact search term).

To a domainer? domain is worthless.
To someone who would actually put in a few hours, and some time ongoing on a daily basis, you have a lot of potential. Build up income, show a few months worth of traffic increases and income from adsense and amazon affiliate and flip the site on Flippa.
