Thanks for the appraisals.:D

If anyone else wants a php domain, the following are available, according to domaindiscount24.com:

php.sg
php.ac
php.am
php.com.sg
php.biz.pl :lala:

According to dd24s availability check, php is registered in over 40 extensions :p

The following seem to actually have php related content on them - not that I can understand a word of most of it :D

http://www.php.tv/
http://www.php.pl/
http://www.php.org.pl/

thanks, and yes I have it :D - reg'd it about 3 weeks ago - put a simple search page up that redirects to google... with the word "php" added to whatever you put into the search box.

If you want a shortcut when googling for php, try php.sc/search terms - for example php.sc/feedback form script...

unfortunately, I now have 3 weeks of stats showing that it gets virtually no type-in traffic :(

guess it needs a bit more development...

... "but" if whois.sc were to sell, what price would you put on it?

Just because something has never sold, doesn't follow that it has no value. Believe me, I've worked in retail for over 30 years... marketing is the key.

It is a developed site built on a low quality domain, the site's success has very little to do with the intrinsic value of the domain, much like google isn't valuable because they chose the name google.com and rent.com wasn't sold for $400 million because ebay liked the sound of that domain name.

The fact that an entire ext has barely had a sale is obvious evidence that it has little value, there are plenty of people trying to sell .sc domains, if something like php.sc was a valuable names then buyers would be snapping these names up.

Just like the ext has nothing to do with the intrinsic value of the domain.. it's all in the marketing and promotion.

My success as a retailer wasn't in my product, it was knowing my customer base. Customers looking for good keywords at a reasonable price = $ales.

So by that reasoning snoop everything but.com,.net CCTLD like .de or .co.uk or .us is worthless?

I'll throw in an appraisal of $200 min for this one.

As far as .sc goes, I own state.sc (the South Carolina (USA) state address is state.sc.us), and I get a decent number of type-ins a day and it's making ~$1 a day. I would imagine that if I marketed this site more, or developed it more, the value could certainly be substantial.

I see great opportunity with .sc and I wish you good luck with php.sc. I agree, hold onto it and it could make you a great return, even given the price of registration.

Thanks,
Andrew

Really, so would you say Sex.sc was worthless?

You gotta study a little more, do you think someone will be willing to buy it before it expires. If so there is some value to it.
