No, literally the whole world is patching PHP right now. Lots of websites have taken the decision to disable their website for now

Is it managed hosting? I have a few self-hosted VPSes with DigitalOcean, some running PHP, and they haven't bothered sending anything out.

I have a few self-managed VPSes on Contabo too, and they haven't sent anything out either.

Glad to see the .si website is back up. With the recent PHP security issues, some downtime for maintenance is understandable...

This vulnerability gives the hackers the keys to any non-updated server. Pretty important to lock your door. Even if that means going offline for a little while.

A lot of these things are exaggerated, this one is not.

The PHP2Shell threat is real. However, it carried a lot of hype about its effectiveness; there are certain conditions that have to be met for a system running PHP to be considered vulnerable.

That being said, patch your server if it runs on PHP, no question about it.

Anything unpatched is vulnerable. What you linked is correct and what it effectively means is that its hard to execute an attack. This is not a script kiddie job. But if someone is determined and skilled, they can do it.

Say they discovered Tesla's are vulnerable to being opened and started with the right noise emitted from an attackers phone. The catch is that everything has to be precisely the same for it to work. The time of day, the temperature, the Tesla model and color and mileage, how high off the ground the phone is, everything. If you figure all of that out, you can open any Tesla that matches those identical settings.

1) you have to figure out what those settings are

2) if anything is different, its not repeatable. if you have to figure it out all over again

That's what this attack is like. Its a massive job figuring out how to get into one site and its often not repeatable because something about the next one is slightly different.
