I've created a simple logo I used a transparant background and saved as a .gif file. But as you can see here http://www.scriptmob.com/ the logo has white trash around it. It doesn't look clean. It looks fine in photoshop, how do I clean this up.

Take a screenshot of the background gradient of the header and place the text on top of it. Right now, your text is anti-aliased against the default white background in your photoshop document.

You have to remember that GIF format doesn't offer full transparency (like PNG-24 does).
As Jim adviced, you'll have to save it on actual background to avoid the nasty halo effect.

Ok I created a logo on the header background how does it look.

Does my logo design suck?

Well, maybe it doesn't suck... :) But could be much better for sure.
Not only the design idea, but also the execution (outline, spacing, effects) should be improved.

The tag line is very easy to read, but the main text is very hard to read. With the bordering and stuff it seems very blurry looking.

Yes the .gif extension looks very choppy with the transparency.

PNG-24 is excellent like Varelse said yet IE(the most popular browser), does not support PNG transparency the transparency will not be there in IE

I think the level in photoshop may work but i am still not very sure about that...

Logo has been changed, how do it look now? Should I add .com to it?

Definitely better but not upto the mark, the logo should be spaced little bit more, it becomes to congested and hard to read. Everything else is preety good. Just the spacing.

Admans.

Was trying to give it a mobster theme.

Should I remove the gun?

If you want it to have a mobster theme, then putting the gun is fine.

Maybe the gun is what makes the site so different and unqiue from the other scripts sites even if it is totally unrelated to scripts :tri:
