I want to develop a "classic albums" type site for a domain I currently have parked.
Ideally, I would like to use album cover artwork as part of the design but of course I don't want to infringe any copyright laws.
Any suggestions or advice? I was thinking maybe if I signed as an affiliate with Amazon (for example) I would be able to use artwork through their links?
Any feedback would be appreciated!

interesting question,

are you looking at using some artwork from an album design on the site, or looking to put actual album images?

there are places you can use to buy the right to use the image (not much cost either, some are like $5) but if you want to use actual album covers, tbh i dont really know.

I was wanting to use album cover pictures, relating to albums being featured/discussed/voted on.
From my perspective, it is promoting the artist's record but I will have to do some more investigating before I go any further.
Thanks for your reply.

i've never heard of anyone getting into trouble using amazon pictures of book, album covers, etc. it would be big news if it happened.

it doesn't mean that it is completely legal - but safe enough to try IMO. after all, the copyright holders are making money out of it, and amazon would be one of their biggest resellers. i doubt they'd want to cut that particular stream off...
