Contest has ended, for now. I have a good batch of Phishing emails to get my project kicked off.
Big TX to all who participated!

I just received another phishing email this morning- this one was a bogus inquiry from "eBay" which began w/ a very unprofessional, "We are writing you today to let you know...". (At least the writing styles found in most phishing email hasn't caught up w/ the technical ingenuity, yet).
This prompted me to register a new name today- one that I have thought about for awhile: PhishEyes.com (PhishEye.com already regged, but I don't see too much of a drop off w/ using choice #2, and am happy w/ it).

So, I'm fishing around, (PTP), to see if those of you who have received phishing emails, would be willing to forward, via email, an html copy of of your phishing email(s), along w/ the source/header info to help me kick start the site. Send what you are comfortably secure w/ relative to your info. All participants email addresses will be kept private and deleted from my data base before placing the entry online.

As a reward, I am offering 100NP$ for *every* new, unique example that is sent to me from an NP member. If 2 or more of the same email is recieved, than the sender w/ earliest email time stamp, gets the NP$ donation. Additionally, the sender, at his/her discretion, will be credited, on the site, for contributing the email. The default be no credit, so if you want to be listed as contributer, indicate this in your email. Currently, NP$ donation limit is 100NP$ each for the 1st 50 unique phishing emails. I will post a running list of phishing emails received, to keep the contest straight and open.
Initially, please send emails to my httpaddress.com email address: names@http[remove]address.com. I will update the email address, shortly, and post a new, PhishEyes.com email address.

Instructions:
1) Forward entire email, or send html copy w/ header info as html attachment to: names@http[remove]address.com
2)Enter "PhishEyes Contest" in subject line
3)Receive 100NP$ donation for each unique phishing email in 24hrs or less.

Note: To keep everything up front and open, I will archive all emails received, including duplicates, and create a link to enable all active participants the oppurtunity to see the order in which emails were sent and received.

TXIA for your support.

To reiterate and clarify:
1st 50 received
Unique sender and content
Although I envision the site to act as a service for the uninformed, I don't expect people to help me w/ my initial little DB for free, and am happy be making the donations. :tri: D-: At least I think I am... :hehe:

Oops. Better define Phishing. This is from Weboepedia:

Phishing
(fishยดing) (n.) The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the userโ€™s information. For example, 2003 saw the proliferation of a phishing scam in which users received e-mails supposedly from eBay claiming that the userโ€™s account was about to be suspended unless he clicked on the provided link and updated the credit card information that the genuine eBay already had. Because it is relatively simple to make a Web site look like a legitimate organizations site by mimicking the HTML code, the scam counted on people being tricked into thinking they were actually being contacted by eBay and were subsequently going to eBayโ€™s site to update their account information. By spamming large groups of people, the โ€œphisherโ€ counted on the e-mail being read by a percentage of people who actually had listed credit card numbers with eBay legitimately
.

Phishing emails specifically are emails that 1)use html to duplicate the look of a legitimate site ie logo, header, graphics etc and 2) provide a link to a look-alike site page or site to extract info fraudulently from the email recipient.
I am looking for the actual fake HTML coded email to show examples of present phishing emails that are making the rounds -Not- email scams in general. If this is unclear and/or I have made a mistake in my definition, please correct me.

Protect Your Account Info
A genuine PayPal link will always begins with "http://www.paypal.com"
