This weeks DNJournal prices are out and I found this snippet very interresting:
"There has been a considerable amount of debate in the domain forums about whether or not Afilias' recent move to give .info domains away at no charge would harm the overall value of names in that extension. My opinion is that it will have no affect on quality names. Over a million .infos has already been registered before the promotion began so the better names were long gone when Afilias made the move (apparently hoping more people would register and develop .infos if they got some free ones to play with). I have seen no evidence that this has dented prices of good .infos. If someone gave away a car lot full of used Yugos would that make Ferraris cheaper? I don't think so."
