+6 days from the "updated" date in WhoIs ... track these "PD's" very closely if you're interested in them, IMHO. I have backorders now at both Pool and SnapNames for ones that I'm watching, and you should proll'y take other measures such as Enom's and GoDaddy's offerings (as well as perhaps NameWinner's), as well ... if the domain(s) mean a LOT to you.

SnapNames used to show whether a backorder had already been placed or not there ... don't think this is the case any longer now with their new "auction system" (bids begin at $60). Multiple bids are now proll'y encouraged for the auctions, in my view.
These PD's drop after approx. 2:00 p.m. EST on the SIXTH day after "updated" status! This is the last step before they become available ... your job now is to go out and get 'em! :talk:
All the best!

I hate this, someone will beat me too them .. is there any "good" backordering system where you only pay if they get the domain?

Why are you assuming someone else will beat you to it/them?

If you win the backorders/auctions, you pay ... if you don't win the backorders or ensuing auctions, you don't pay. How much you going to bid is the real question?
Have fun!

If the name's worth at least $60 to you, put a backorder in at Pool. You pay only if you get it.

No I mean most of these names won't be going into bidding probally just backordering.. If I backorder with Godaddy do I get my $18.95 back if I don't get the name?

And it is "PENDING DELETE" So do registrars let you backorder?

Mostly I have just used godaddy so some help please :)

Thanks so far CoolJeff :tu: :p

GoDaddy doesn't refund you, but instead you are able to change the subscription to another name if it doesn't catch the one you have backordered.

And GoDaddy backorders are only $12.35 if you go through a discounted WWD account. Check here for a free one -> http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=58013

The names ..hmm..

Lets say they are traffic names and only worth my backordering fee ;)

Should I take my chance and wait till available?
Or is there a place I can place a backorder and if I get it I pay? If so what place?

Last questions I swear :tu: :p

If the pending delete domains are from Godaddy, and if you backordered it, there's a better chance of accquiring it when it drops. Of course, snap companies are quick and fast with snapping domains too. As for credit-wise, credits from an unsuccessful backorder cannot be refunded. But you'll be given the opportunity to backorder another domain.

I need a milkshake!

Perhaps - for only the cost of registration - you should simply wait until the SIXTH DAY after approx. 2:00 p.m. EST and attempt to manually register them (if they drop and no other entity or backordering system grabbed them). These sound like kind of middle-of-the-road domains to me, and you may not wish to spend a premium over Reg. fee for them, in my view. I've secured domains like this many times, but rest assured ... very few people wanted them besides me. Bah!
Wish you all the best!

^^^^ true for Pool & NameWinner (possibly Snapnames now? Haven't used them recently)

If they're traffic names with any sort of link popularity or pagerank, there's next to no chance of manually registering them. Seems any name with a semblance of traffic is being backordered by someone with at least one of the drop catching services.

Okay well I checked out SnapNames...

These are good names and I think when I checked godaddy they have been backordered..

Now I am going to try some auction type thing, where do you recommend. I don't like putting a credit card on file or anything like that, I prefer paypal but if credit card is only payment then I will do it.

Hmm I really want these names, I just dont know how to get them!!

So where do you suggest I go and backorder them at.. $60 is probally worth it at pool.com

Any suggestions on what I do? *<|

Enom clubdrop seems like a great choice recently. Been using namewinner for awhile. Those with snapnames and pool always end up bidding very high. Wish you luck, pal. :)
